Scandinavia’s biggest online jewellery seller achieves international success
CHANTI sells jewellery to customers in 15 European countries and is currently Scandinavia’s largest online jewellery shop, with 17,000 lines, an annual turnover of 65 million Danish krone and 15 highly skilled employees. CEO Per Søndergaard has used Google AdWords to help him build and expand his business, with impressive success. “Before AdWords, we were just a local Danish company,” explains Per. “But with AdWords we’ve been able to internationalise our business model in a short period of time and achieve success in seven international markets.”
Per, who originally ran the company and warehouse from his own apartment, continues: “It’s been extremely easy. To a great extent, all we’ve done is replicate our site and online activities in Denmark in other countries. In this respect, Google AdWords provides you with an extremely simple model for internationalising a business. Over the course of just a few weeks, you can see what works and what doesn’t work in a new market. We can take the 80% that does work and use it in every country.”
This simple road to success has delivered annual growth of 30% and attracted several prizes for CHANTI, including the 2010 Growth Prize and being named a Gazelle Company in 2014.
