Tan Lan Bakery in North Wales has a growing reputation for baking mouth-watering handmade delights, such as artisan breads, cakes, pies and sandwiches. According to Owner Dean Geldart, “In the last 10 years, the bakery has grown from 1 to 20 employees and has been voted the number one bakery in Wales by viewers of a television programme dedicated to finding Britain’s best bakery.” Most of Tan Lan’s wholesale customers find the bakery via Google and many people come into the shop and ask for something they’ve seen on the website. So, as Dean says, “although the proof is in the tasting, there’s no question in my mind that the website is a fantastic showcase for both Tan Lan’s wholesale and retail businesses”. In the months to come, Tan Lan will be looking at taking advantage of its growing reputation and making deliveries of its handmade baked products further afield in the UK.
