Online toy shop plays with the idea of further expansion
Sprell is a retail chain that specialises in high-quality toys and interior furnishings for children’s rooms. The chain has six physical stores, as well as a large online shop that opened its virtual doors in 2000.
Sprell entered the world of e-commerce early on, and for the last five to ten years it has used Google AdWords to market its online shop. “It has been very important to have online visibility, and using Google is one of the most effective ways to achieve that,” says Alexander Arnesen, Owner and Founder of Sprell. The tool has also opened up the opportunity to sell in new geographical areas. Alexander notes: “Google helps us to sell in places where we can’t open a store.”
With the help of AdWords, traffic to the website has increased significantly, and the firm has experienced strong growth in online sales. Based on this, it has been able to hire more staff, and turnover in the last year alone has soared by 30%. “It’s extremely important to have efficient marketing tools when you operate an online shop, and we’ll probably continue to see more growth in future,” concludes Alexander.
