The whole world is opened up to López-Linares Anticuarios
The López-Linares family has sold classic pieces of furniture and other antiques for nearly 30 years, and is a go-to place in Madrid. After the family’s latest generation took over the business in 2011, they opened up a new line of reproduction antique jewellery, which they called Vintage by López-Linares. To help them drive sales, they used Google, as a significant proportion of their customers are online. María, who co-owns the jewellery line, says: “Google helped us launch nationwide and become incredibly well known. We now get about a thousand visits a day, and 75% are through search by keyword. The Internet is a marketplace that’s open to the whole world and that allows you to compete with anyone. We work long hours, but we get huge satisfaction when people come to us from all over Spain and the rest of the world gets to know our shop.”
