Alfarería Aparicio is a family business that has made pottery for more than 100 years. It was founded at the end of the 19th century in the small Galician municipality of Buño. The business was handed down for generations from father to son and is now owned by Aparicio Añón. In 2011, he signed up for “Connect your Business to Google” to promote Alfarería online, and didn’t have to wait long to see results. Visits to his website have increased and he says sales have increased, too. Now, Alfarería Aparicio is better known on both a regional and national level and has been able to contact new craft vendors. “A distributor from Pontevedra recently saw our website and took an interest in our products. He came here in person and now we have a new customer who probably wouldn’t have heard of us otherwise,” explains Aparicio. Thanks to Google, his small pottery workshop has managed to fit into the increasingly important virtual marketplace. Aparicio concludes, “Google is a great way to raise the profile of your business.”
