Hats and carpets retailer triples its turnover in two years
Magnus Skoglund was familiar with the power of Google AdWords thanks to his previous job. He then founded Cama-Gruppen, a hats and carpets retailer which now runs two online shops: Hatshop.se and Trendcarpet.se. He explains: “It's thanks to AdWords that we can reach out to customers. We’ve tripled our turnover in the last two years and AdWords is responsible for half our sales. In fact, we’ve been able to reach Germany with our domain Trendcarpet-kuhfell.de, in a cost-efficient and straightforward way – it's probably there we’ve earned the most from using AdWords.”
“With AdWords we get the visitors we want to reach,” Magnus continues. “I think it’s great that as a small company we have the chance to measure ourselves up against the big players. With AdWords, it doesn’t matter how big your company is and because we have very niche products, we get our message out quickly.”
Magnus also uses other Google tools to help him develop his business: “The statistics provided by Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools guide us as to which products we should invest in further. For instance, we can see patterns of behaviour in consumers’ searches. Many people search for black and white cowhides, so that’s something we’re going to focus on. And lots of people search for Indiana Jones-style hats, which generates sales for us.”
It’s great that as a small company we have the chance to measure ourselves up against the big players. With AdWords, it doesn’t matter how big your company is.
