Bathroom company cleans up in Dutch and Belgian markets

Since 2007 Sanitairwinkel.nl has been the No.1 firm for bathroom furnishings both in the Netherlands and in Belgium. The company launched its online shop in 2009, and initiated its first Google AdWords campaigns later that year.

AdWords has been a tremendous help in boosting brand awareness, as well as increasing website visitors (up 30%) and, of course, sales (up 50%). As a result, Sanitairwinkel.nl has grown significantly – from a sole trader to a flourishing business with 30 staff. The company was one of the first in its industry to establish a strong online presence, which has given it a good competitive advantage.

Marketing Manager Sasja Dekker-Bouwman says: “Between 2009 and 2014, Google AdWords has helped us secure around 25% of our visitors, 30% of our transactions and 28% of our total revenue.”

Sasja goes on to explain that the tool makes data transparent, allowing them to optimise campaigns: “Without AdWords, we wouldn’t be able to optimise so well. Sanitairwinkel.nl partly owes its modernisation and growth to Google.”
