YzyTop scales new heights with Google AdWords

Mindaugas Dapkevičius, owner of the small company MB Tornadas, which manages the brand name YzyTop, became a steeplejack when he was barely 16 years old. Since 2006 Mindaugas has been in charge of industrial alpinism projects of varying complexity. Industrial alpinism is often associated with great bravery, but Mindaugas talks about his business carefully and even a little shyly.

YzyTop steeplejacks undertake work of varying complexity at heights, ranging from dismantling 100-metre chimneys or changing the signs on billboards along the highway to cleaning the chimneys of individual houses.

Since last autumn YzyTop has begun providing 'working at heights' services for individual home owners, for example, chimney cleaning, installing lightning conductors or strengthening antennas. Mostly clients require chimney cleaning, which is specific and seasonal work, so Mindaugas only advertises his services online.

Mindaugas says: “Over the past year I’ve invested around 800 litas in AdWords campaigns.” That’s about 70–80% of his entire advertising budget.

Mindaugas adds: “I like AdWords because it’s simple to use. I can create and place ads myself, without needing help from anyone else.”

He knows that during AdWords campaigns he gets calls from one or two potential new clients every day. In addition, this steeplejack likes the flexibility of AdWords. He can launch campaigns intermittently, aiming for the busy season – for example, before the onset of the heating season.

I like AdWords because it’s simple to use. I can create and place ads myself, without needing help from anyone else.
