Weltweit Wachsen helps Makeke increase sales and reach more customers
Furniture and interior design website Makeke lets users search for products based on their own styles and tastes. The company is the vision of founder Daniel Haglage, who is aiming to give as many customers as possible a more personalised shopping experience. “In five years’ time, I see Makeke as the one Internet platform for people to find ideas and inspiration for furnishing their homes,” says Daniel. Like many start-ups, Makeke faced the common challenges of low reach and lack of visibility online. This all changed when Daniel was invited to a seminar as part of Weltweit Wachsen. The seminar helped Daniel learn the fundamentals of running successful digital marketing campaigns, including set-up, ad placement and monitoring. Soon after, he started Makeke’s first Google AdWords campaign, drawing on the knowledge he gained from WeltWeit Wachsen. The site saw an immediate surge in traffic, leading to increased sales. “It was Makeke’s best ever month,” says Daniel. “Just four weeks after attending the Weltweit Wachsen seminar and starting our first AdWords campaign, our sales had grown by over 200%.” AdWords is now Daniel’s go-to tool when it comes to promoting new products in the Makeke store. With Google’s help, he now aims to take his new shopping experience to even more users across Europe.
