Online shop for motorcycle products takes to the fast lane with Analytics

The shop.thunderbike.de platform offers a wide range of motorcycle products sold by Hamminkeln-based company Thunderbike, which was established in 1985 and currently employs 70 people worldwide. In 2011, the company started using Google tools, particularly Analytics, to raise awareness about its brand, attract more online visitors and in turn boost sales. “Since then, we’ve had over 2 million visitors on Google+ and have been able to significantly raise our brand profile,” explains Marketing Director Martin Mix. “This earned us a three-figure percentage increase in sales with very little outlay.” The specialist supplier is also highly visible abroad, a fact impressively demonstrated by orders from countries such as Russia and China. In addition to Analytics and AdWords, Thunderbike also advertises offline – mostly in motorcycle magazines and at biker events. The company is also very active on a variety of online channels. The motorcycle specialists have almost 500,000 fans on Facebook and over half a million video views on YouTube but when it comes to business analysis, it’s all about Google: “With Google Analytics and AdWords, we can see exactly what our customers want,” says Mix, “which helps us place our ads with pinpoint accuracy.”
