Android puts small games developer on a level with bigger rivals
Founded in Montpellier in 2008, Scimob is an independent studio creating mobile and tablet games for the French, European and global markets.
“We’ve always developed apps and sites on Android,” explains Founder and CEO Gaël Bonnafous. “In 2010 Android accounted for 10% of our market, but now it’s over 50% percent and has become our number one platform.”
Between 2010 and 2014, the company’s income rose fivefold and it took on two Android developers; it now has ten employees. “Thanks to Google, our small team has access to powerful tools just like the big studios,” says Gaël: “Google tools have made us more flexible and responsive. They’re well designed, easy to integrate and monitor and regularly updated, all of which are major plus points.”
