Launchpad helps QuizTix boost discoverability
QuizTix is a family of social-connected trivia games for mobile and smart TV. Focusing on topics from film and sport, to pop and comedy, the apps provide a fun and interactive quizzing experience for trivia lovers. Like many start-ups in the mobile space, the biggest challenge QuizTix faced was discoverability. Since joining Google Launchpad, the company has seen improved visibility and increased downloads. “The support from Launchpad on how to get the most from Google Play services has boosted our discoverability,” says Creative Director Ian Masters. “We consistently get higher downloads on Google Play than any other platform. Plus, due to great cross-promotion, when we released our BBC Comedy Genius game, we saw a 40% uplift in downloads across the rest of the QuizTix family.” This success led to QuizTix having six of the top 12 trending trivia games on Google Play. Launchpad also introduced the QuizTix team to the possibilities of Android TV – a platform they have now embraced. “As a start-up, it’s important to go where new opportunities are,” adds Ian. “Android TV is a perfect fit for our style of gameplay. We know it’s going to be a really important platform for us in the future.” The QuizTix team are now preparing for an upcoming Launchpad UX review, which will help to further optimise the user experience as they aim to build on recent success. “Because Google Play is available in 135 countries, we can now take advantage of these new market opportunities,” says Ian.
