Key Tours doubles sales thanks to AdWords

Keytours.gr was set up by a long-standing travel agency in Athens. The online platform is aimed at potential customers looking for cultural guided tours in Greece. It offers day trips from Athens and extended tours of archaeological and historical sites, with the opportunity for visitors to explore Greek folklore and art as well. The travel agency uses AdWords to target users based on their country and interests. Thanks to many years of experience, Key Tours understands that each nationality is different and this has helped them to reach potential customers more effectively. As for Google’s other services, it made sense to combine AdWords with Google Analytics and the agency now plans to use YouTube to promote video highlights of their tours. Sales have skyrocketed since it started using AdWords. Owner Dimitris Bistolas says, “Our turnover doubled in 2013 and 2014 and we saw a 15% rise in 2015. This is a pretty solid performance given the problems facing the Greek tourism industry last year.” Thanks to this rapid growth, Key Tours has hired five employees since 2012 and plans to hire two more by the end of 2016.
