Doctolib experiences exceptional first-year growth

Founded in 2013, Doctolib.fr is the leading online portal for finding and booking medical appointments in France. Boasting 1 million monthly users and 1,500 listed health professionals, Doctolib is considered by many to be the “Google for health”. With just over a year in business, Doctolib has experienced incredible success as a startup and already employs 60 people. Marketing Director Julien Meraud discusses the company’s web strategy and internal organisation: “We’ve used Google Apps for Work since the beginning. All our files are saved on Google Drive and we communicate internally using Gmail Chat. We’ve also used Google Sponsored Promotions (GSP) to target our B2B communications since 2014, and have a Google AdWords account. Most of our traffic now comes from Google.” Doctolib’s turnover is linked to the number of practitioners registered in its database, and Julien is certain that Google helped to promote the site to health care professionals from day one. The company grew very quickly (increasing its workforce from 15 to 60 employees in just three months) and has rapidly overtaken the competition. Google has also granted Doctolib more internal flexibility: “Google’s tools are simple, easy to use and easy to install – no matter how many team members you have. They can be accessed by everyone everywhere.”
