Desperta Ferro Ediciones grows its readership fivefold with Google’s help
Desperta Ferro Ediciones is a publisher specialising in magazines featuring police and military history. When it was founded in 2010, it published a magazine with a circulation of 2,000. Four years later, it has three magazines with a circulation of between 10,000 and 12,000. Moreover, the publisher’s three founding partners have been able to dedicate themselves full-time to editorial responsibilities, and have hired six more employees. This rapid growth is due in large part to the Google tools the company uses – such as Google AdWords – that helped raise awareness of the brand in the initial phases of the project’s development. Alberto Pérez, Founding Partner, explains, “We didn’t have financing for publicity using traditional channels and all of our marketing began via the Internet. Google’s work on this has been a great help.” He finds Google products very intuitive, easy to use and very helpful in reaching their target market: “Now the three of us can dedicate ourselves completely to our passion, which is history.”
