Codogno town council achieves big cost savings

The council of Codogno, a town of 16,000 inhabitants in the province of Lodi in Lombardy, discovered Google for Work in 2011. Since then, its productivity has significantly improved. “We were looking for a highly integrated solution, and we’ve definitely found it,” says IT Manager Imerio Lucini Paioni. “We’re very satisfied with the service we receive from Gmail, and Calendar has been a big help. It’s like Google anticipated all the technology we needed.” Members of the newly elected council needed a tool with a short learning curve that would help them to communicate internally, and Google Apps has proved the perfect solution. More importantly, the council has significantly reduced its IT maintenance costs, since it no longer uses a client system and depends entirely on a web browser. It has also created simple intranet scripts to automate some of its procedures, and used Sites to simplify its operations.
