Family-run Berwick Shellfish Company has been in business for 45 years, building its reputation by selling a wide variety of locally caught shellfish to wholesale customers in eight countries worldwide. The company has been using Google AdWords since October 2014 to promote both the wholesale side of its business as well as their newly launched online store. Berwick Shellfish Company’s online store builds on the company’s reputation for excellence and offers everything from salmon to freshly caught local lobster. In the lead up to Christmas 2014, the online store took between £6,000 to £8,000 in sales, mainly in the space of five weeks. “The wholesale business was very well-established but the online shop was a completely new venture,” says Graham Flannigan, Director and Co-Owner. “Things have gone extremely very well for us since launching it. We’ve even taken on two extra employees to handle both online marketing and processing retail orders. We’re really excited for the future.”
