Screen Time Labs | Offering an app that allows parents to manage the time their children spend on tablets and mobile phones

Android and Play provide perfect platform for Screen Time Labs to succeed

Without Android and Google Play, Screen Time Labs would not have a concept or an app to take to market. Founder Steve Vangasse got the idea for Screen Time Labs, an app which allows parents to manage the amount of time their kids spend on tablets and mobile phones, when he bought his own children Android tablets. Steve is a software developer and Java is his preferred language. When it came to creating the app, Android was first choice because “it was familiar to me and I was comfortable developing in that environment,” says Steve. One year on, and Steve’s Screen Time Labs app is on Google Play and being downloaded by parents all over the world. “We’re doing very well,” says Steve. “So much so that I’ve been able to leave my day job. If we weren’t succeeding on Google Play, there would be no business.” The only person who isn’t so thrilled by Steve’s success with Screen Time Labs is his eldest son who doesn’t want any of his friends to know what Steve does. “He’d much rather I wrote games,” says Steve.
