Innovative online construction platform hits the ground running with Google Launchpad
Established in 2014, the online platform Building Radar breathes new life and innovation into the traditional construction business. The startup website has a construction search engine at its core, which allows companies to tailor their product and service offerings to more than three million construction projects worldwide.Co-Founder and CEO Leopold Neuerburg says, “We actually had a clear idea of what we wanted to offer from the outset, but taking part in Google Launchpad allowed us to get a holistic view of our company and offer our users genuine added value.” After participating in Launchpad in February 2015 as a three-person team, Building Radar now employs 20 staff and aims to expand operations in the USA after conquering the European market. “Our collaboration with Google brought us a lot of benefits,” continues Neuerburg. “We were able to enjoy expert feedback, received around 100,000 US dollars for server performance, and we are still are in regular contact with Google on the engineering side today.” The Munich-based firm also relies on Google in its day-to-day work – using Google Apps for Work for international collaboration, strategically increasing its revenues with Google AdWords, and reducing server costs with the help of the Google Cloud platform GCP. “Google has helped us give our users a significant competitive advantage, with maximum flexibility and no vendor lock-in,” concludes Neuerburg.
