Möbel Kissling furniture company expands customer base beyond core region
Möbel Kissling AG is a long-established family business founded in 1936 by Franz Kissling. It has continued to evolve and develop ever since, always gearing its product range towards the needs of its clientele. Today, Kissling even creates entire interior design concepts for customers. The company established its profile by attending up to 15 trade fairs and exhibitions annually. Just as the product range has adapted to suit changing customer requirements, so too has the advertising concept, and Möbel Kissling AG was one of the first furniture companies in Switzerland to have its own website. Stefan Kissling, the founder’s son, was quick to discover Google AdWords, which enabled the company to acquire customers from far beyond its core region. “Using AdWords has allowed us to add customers from all over Switzerland,” says Stephan Hodel, who took over the company from his stepfather in 2006. The strategy of combining trade fair stands with AdWords is paying off, as the figures demonstrate: around 35% of the company’s customers discover Kissling at trade fairs, while around 50% discover it online. “The Internet generates awareness, the shop wins people over,” says Hodel proudly.
